You're about to spend about a third of your day at a new job. When you think about the ideal place to work, what are you hoping for?
To be part of a collaborative team?
To learn continuously from leaders you respect?
To produce high-quality work that makes clients happy?
To have time to balance work responsibilities with other aspects of your life, such as family, community and personal care?
To meet new people who share your interests?
These are just some of the qualities we experience at TKW while pursuing our passion for accounting. Whether we are auditing financial statements, preparing taxes or helping clients problem-solve, we are members of a team that takes pride in exceeding expectations and believes in having freedom of choice in exchange for accountability.
We are looking for people who want to help us grow our team and our business. Could you be our next new hire?
TKW has been providing peace of mind to our clients since 1987, specializing in assurance and tax services for companies, individuals, not-for-profits and governmental entities throughout the Pacific Northwest. We are a mid-market firm located in Portland, Oregon.
Our Audit Seniors are a bit like air traffic controllers - they are right in the middle of all the action. While implementing high-quality audit engagements from initial planning to final wrap-up, working with clients and Audit staff to complete audits that meet or exceed expectations, they also keep our Audit Managers and Partners up to date on the progress of the engagement. As an Audit Senior you'll be expected to interact professionally with clients, and train audit staff to develop their skills. You will also participate in our recruiting process and occasionally represent TKW at outside events. Travel takes place mostly within the Portland area, but you may also have the opportunity to visit clients and attend trainings and conferences at locations farther away.
We prefer candidates who have at least two years of current or recent audit experience, and who are pursuing a career in public accounting. Therefore, having an active CPA license or working toward eligibility to take the CPA exam is ideal.
Besides technical abilities, we look for people who:
Care about others, including co-workers, clients and their community;
Pay attention to details, demonstrate initiative, manage projects well, and exhibit problem-solving skills, but also ask for help when needed;
Are willing to mentor others during client engagements;
Acknowledge that hard work and long hours are a known facet of a public accounting career but believe that solving problems and giving strategic business recommendations makes it all worth it;
Are located in the Portland metro area or plan to move to our beautiful city upon accepting the job offer. Unfortunately, we are unable to sponsor H1-B Visa applicants at this time.
Either like the benefits of a hybrid work environment or want to be in the office full-time. We find employees learn faster and engage more when they are in the office, but we also embrace the flexibility that comes with working from home once you are able to work independently.
We offer all the benefits you'd expect, including health and retirement benefits, PTO and a competitive salary. There's also free parking, minimal travel...and did we mention the snack cubicle?! Just so you know, we're not all work and no play. We organize social events and philanthropic opportunities through the year that you can get involved in, along with fun team activities and company-provided meals during busy season.
Once we receive your application, we'll forward it to the appropriate hiring team, who will make sure they have everything they need to review your qualifications. We will reach out to acknowledge receipt of your materials, and if we are able to move forward to the next stage of the hiring process, we will contact you as soon as possible to set up a virtual or in-person interview.
Thank you for your interest in TKW and this position. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
