Audit Associate

You're going to spend about a third of your day at your job. When you think about the ideal place to work, what do you get excited about?

• Being part of a collaborative team?
• Learning continuously from leaders you respect?
• Producing high-quality work that makes clients happy?
• Having time to balance work responsibilities with other aspects of your life, such as family, community, and yourself?
• Meeting new people who share your interests?

These are just some of the qualities we experience at TKW while pursuing our passion for accounting. Whether we're preparing taxes, auditing financial statements or helping our clients problem-solve, we are part of a team that takes pride in exceeding expectations and believes in having freedom of choice in exchange for accountability.

We're looking for more people to grow our team and our business. Could you be our newest Audit Associate in 2025? This position will start at the Firm at a mutually agreeable date between June and August 2025.

Our Firm
TKW has been providing peace of mind to our clients since 1987, specializing in assurance and tax services for companies, individuals, and governmental entities throughout the Pacific Northwest. We are a mid-size firm located in Portland, Oregon.

You
We don't expect our first year Audit Associates to know how to audit when they arrive on Day One. Rather, we develop a personalized training plan, overseen by your Mentor, that introduces you to the auditing tools we use, exposes you to a large variety of clients and engagement types right from the start and gets you involved in almost all aspects of an audit file within your first few months on the job. We prefer candidates who are considering a career in public accounting and therefore have an active CPA license or are working toward eligibility to take the CPA exam. We would also like to see a GPA of 3.00+ and a degree in accounting. Industry experience, including internships in accounting or a related field, is also a plus.

We look for people who:
• Care about others, including co-workers, clients and their community.
• Pay attention to details, demonstrate initiative, exhibit problem-solving skills, and ask for help when none of those things are working.
• Acknowledge that hard work and long hours are a known facet of a public accounting career but find ways to achieve a work-life balance for themselves.
• Are either located in the Portland metro area or plan to move to our beautiful city upon accepting the job offer. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide employment sponsorships at this time.

We offer all the benefits you'd expect, including health and retirement benefits, PTO, an Employee Assistance Program and a competitive salary. There's also free parking, minimal travel...and did we mention the snack cubicle?! Just so you know, we're not all work and no play. We organize social events and philanthropic opportunities throughout the year, along with fun team activities and company-provided meals during busy seasons.

Once we receive your application, we'll forward it to the appropriate hiring team, who will make sure they have everything they need to review your qualifications. We will reach out to acknowledge receipt of your materials (be sure to include your most recent college transcript), and if we are able to move forward to the next stage of the hiring process, we will contact you as soon as possible to set up a virtual or in-person interview.

Thank you for your interest in TKW and this position. We look forward to hearing from you soon!

If we should talk, please click "Apply Now" to fill out our employment application.
There will be a place in the form to upload your cover letter, resume and college transcript, so be sure to have them ready.
