Tax Associate

You're going to spend about a third of your day at your job.  When you think about the ideal place to work, what do you get excited about?

  • Being part of a collaborative team?

  • Learning continuously from leaders you respect?

  • Producing high-quality work that makes clients happy?

  • Having time to balance work responsibilities with other aspects of your life, such as family, community, and personal care?

  • Meeting new people who share your interests?

These are just some of the qualities we experience at TKW while pursuing our passion for accounting.  Whether we're preparing taxes, auditing financial statements or helping our clients problem-solve, we are part of a team that takes pride in exceeding expectations and believes in having freedom of choice in exchange for accountability.

We're looking for more people to grow our team and our business.  Could you be our next new hire?

We are a boutique public accounting firm located in Portland, Oregon.  We have been providing peace of mind to our clients since 1987, specializing in tax and assurance services, including tax return preparation, audits, reviews, AUPs, attestations and advisory work for companies, individuals, not-for-profits and governmental entities.

As a Tax Associates you would prepare individual, pass-through, corporate business, trust and non-profit federal and state income tax returns.  You would also prepare property tax and other non-income tax returns.  You would work with other tax team members on engagements to provide quality products for clients.  You would also attend training to develop an understanding of the tax law to better serve our clients.

You :
  • Want to work with people who care about their co-workers and clients and strive to achieve a work-life balance within the rigors of our seasonal business cycle;

  • Are a fast learner and self-starter who pays attention to details, contributes intelligently to projects, and asks for help when needed;

  • Are willing to give back to the community when the opportunity presents itself; and

  • Acknowledge that hard work and long hours are a known facet of a public accounting career but believe that solving problems and giving strategic business recommendations make it all worth it.

  • Are located in the Portland metro area or plan to move to Portland upon accepting the job offer.

You also have:
  • A positive attitude in all communications and situations;

  • The ability to work well in both team-oriented and self-directed environments;

  • High attention to detail;

  • Excellent customer service, analytical, organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills; and

  • The ability to thrive in high pressure situations and environments while successfully meeting deadlines.

We offer all the benefits you'd expect, including health and retirement benefits, PTO and a competitive salary. There's also free parking, minimal travel...and did we mention the snack cubicle?! Just so you know, we're not all work and no play. We organize social events and philanthropic opportunities throughout the year, along with fun team activities and company-provided meals during busy seasons.

Once we receive your application, we'll forward it to the appropriate hiring team, who will make sure they have everything they need to review your qualifications. We will reach out to acknowledge receipt of your materials (be sure to include your most recent college transcript), and if we are able to move forward to the next stage of the hiring process, we will contact you as soon as possible to set up a virtual or in-person interview.

If we should talk, please click "Apply Now" to fill out our employment application.
There will be a place in the form to upload your cover letter and resume, so be sure to have that ready.
