Partner Profiles

  Craig Vagt, Managing Partner

Craig serves dual roles as TKW’s managing partner as well as a tax partner.  Starting with a national accounting firm in San Francisco where he became a partner, he returned to the Portland area to start his own practice in 1992.  In 2002 he merged his practice with TKW.

Craig’s career has consisted of working with clients of all sizes to solve tax and business problems and has focused on opportunities presented to privately held companies.  He has been involved in the construction and real estate industry areas for many years and each continues to form a strong base to his practice.  He currently is an appointee to the Associated General Contractors national Tax and Fiscal Affairs Committee and the local AGC finance committee.  In addition, he works in the manufacturing, hospitality, and service sectors.  He has spoken to national, regional, and state organizations on a wide range of tax topics.

Craig’s educational background consists of a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon in Finance, a Master of Science in Taxation from Golden Gate University, and a law degree from Golden Gate University.  While working in San Francisco, he lectured as a member of the adjunct faculty in the Master of Science in Taxation program at Golden Gate University.  He currently serves on the Portland State University Accounting Advisory Board.

Married with one daughter, his outside interests include reading, especially history, traveling and trying to understand the world of investing, the latter with very modest success.  He currently is a member of the Oregon Food Bank Board of Directors where he serves as the Treasurer.



  Tim Gillette, Audit Partner

Tim is the Partner in Charge of the Firm’s audit and accounting practice and the Firm’s designated Quality Control Partner.  He is a licensed CPA in Oregon, Washington and Idaho, and a licensed municipal auditor in Oregon.  Tim is a member of the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). 

Tim joined TKW in 2001.  Previously he worked for “Big 4” public accounting firms in Amsterdam, Honolulu, Portland, and Omaha.  Tim has led training in US GAAP & GAAS at the local, national and international levels.  He currently serves on the Oregon Board of Accountancy’s Peer Review Task Force. Tim’s varied career of over 35 years in public accounting and private industry includes stints as an analyst for a mining company, as a home builder, as vice president finance of a developer/operator in the hospitality industry, and as general manager of a manufacturer of truck parts. 

Tim has a Masters in Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science  from the University of Arkansas.  He is president of the Wharton Alumni Club of Portland and is active in the Multnomah Athletic Club, where he is the past chair of the Karate Committee and the Budget Subcommittee, and currently serves on the Membership Committee.



  Rob Moody, Audit Partner

Rob joined TKW in 2004 after more than fifteen years of direct governmental experience as a finance officer with local cities.  He served as the Finance Director for the cities of The Dalles and Sherwood, followed by four years as the Assistant Finance Director with the City of Wilsonville. 

Rob has served as President of the Oregon Municipal Finance Officers Association (OMFOA) and has chaired the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA).  He currently sits on the OSCPA Governmental Accounting and Auditing Team, as well as the OMFOA Education Committee.  Rob teaches governmental accounting topics for Portland State University, the AICPA, and the McGladrey Network of Firms.  He also coordinates much of the governmental training offered to TKW’s clients and internal team members.

Rob oversees the Firm’s government practice and is the designated audit quality partner over government engagements as recognized by the Firm’s membership in the AICPA’s Government Audit Quality Center (GAQC).  Rob is a licensed CPA in Oregon, Washington and Alaska, as well as an Oregon Licensed Municipal Auditor.



  Jason Orme, Tax Partner

As a TKW tax partner, Jason is currently head of our Tax Department.  He is also chair of the Firm’s Manufacturing Committee.  Jason joined TKW in 2002 after 14 years with a national accounting firm.  A licensed CPA, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) where he recently became involved with the OSCPA’s student mentoring program.  For more than 21 years, he has provided tax consulting and compliance services to middle market businesses and their owners, as well as to tax exempt organizations.  He has been a conference speaker for the OSCPA and several other organizations.

Jason graduated from the University of Utah with Bachelor Degrees in Accounting and Finance and a Master of Professional Accountancy degree with an emphasis in tax.  He and his wife Jeanine married in 1985, and are the parents of a 22 year old daughter, a 19 year old son and a 13 year old son.  Jason enjoys fly fishing (or any other type of fishing), helping his youngest son with scouting activities, volunteering for his church, spending time at the coast, and listening to Jeanine play her music (she plays bluegrass, swing and Celtic fiddle music).



  Brad Rafish, Consulting Partner

Brad is a partner with TKW's consulting practice including our information technology services.  For over 25 years, he has provided small - mid-size businesses, governmental organizations, and not-for-profits with reviews and assessments to help each become more effective, more efficient, and more productive.  Brad began his career as a Legislative Auditor in the Montana Legislative Auditor’s Office and moved to Oregon as an Operational Auditor for the Multnomah County Auditor’s Office.  He is a graduate of the University of Montana where he earned an MBA.  Brad is a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) and a Certified Internal Controls Auditor (CICA).

Brad is a member of the Association of Governmental Accountants, Institute for Internal Controls, and the Oregon Professional Services Council.  He is a former board president of TheftTalk, a non-profit counseling provider.



  Angelique Whitlow, Audit Partner

Angelique is a CPA licensed in Oregon and a partner with TKW where she has worked since June 1994.  Angelique started with TKW as a staff accountant after previously working in the accounting department at OMSI. 

Angelique has a BS degree from Linfield College with a major in Accounting and a minor in Computer Science.  She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA), and is a licensed Municipal Auditor. 
Angelique’s assurance practice (audits, review, compilations, agreed upon procedures etc.) focuses on working with construction clients but works on a variety of different entities throughout the year including employee benefit plans, municipalities, and other for profit entities.  Angelique is currently the Chair of the Associates Council of the Oregon Columbia Chapter of the Association of General Contractors of America, Inc. and gives her a seat on the Board of Directors. Additionally, Angelique currently serves on the Board of Directors of Camp Fire USA Portland Metro Council as the Treasuer.
