BETC Program Will Be Phased Out and Replaced with Three Separate Programs

Please note the following new information (posted 7/7/11) regarding the Business Energy Tax Credit (BETC) program from the Oregon Department of Energy.
Under House Bill 3672 (2011), the BETC program is being phased out and replaced with three separate programs.   BETC applications received before April 15, 2011 have received preliminary certifications.  Applications received after April 15 will be returned.  The April 15 date is specified in the legislation.

No new BETC applications can be accepted, except from those who already have a preliminary certification and are applying for final certification.

The Oregon Department of Energy will soon post a rulemaking schedule for the new incentives created by HB 3672.  These cover renewable energy, conservation and transportation and have significant modifications from the BETC program.
The Oregon Department of Energy has recently compiled a list of questions from the public regarding the changes noted in HB 3672, and has answered them by way of "Frequently Asked Questions", posted on the ODOE website. If you have additional questions, please feel free to submit them through the ODOE website or contact ODOE at 1-800-221-8035.
