Contributions made to charitable organizations for releif of victims of the January earthquake may be deducted on either your 2009 or 2010 income tax return.  To qualify for deduction on your 2009 return, the contributions must be made after January 11th and before March 1st to a United States charity providing relief in Haiti.  Oregon currently does not allow the deduction on the 2009 Oregon return.  However, the Oregon Legislature began a special session on February 1st, and may pass conforming legislation.
